- Lead the implementation of service-based architectures and optimized data processing systems using python. Work closely with frameworks and platforms like Spark, Airflow, Beam, Golang, Kubernetes, BigQuery, GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform.
- Collaborate with team leads and business stakeholders across Loblaw Technology & Analytics practice and provide an input on technical achievability of problem being solved
- Help define new development patterns, platforms, and tooling to enable rapid, repeatable delivery. Passionately work to improve the developer experience.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
- Software engineering experience using python or a compiled object-oriented language (Golang, java, C#), SQL and database design, CI/CD, Git and familiarity with SDLC concepts.
- Experience working collaboratively to deliver a data-focused product.
- Proven experience scaling data workloads using distributed compute (e.g., Spark, Apache Beam, Kubernetes) and exposing services via backend APIs.
- Experience with a cloud environment (GCP, Azure, AWS), especially using distributed-compute resources (BigQuery, Spark, Redshift, HD Insight) and data processing tools (Apache Airflow/Beam, AWS Glue/Kinesis, Azure Data Factory).
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills with a self-motivated approach. Able to empathetically engage team members that require mentorship and support.
